Matleena is Finnish and Chris is English, so where else would they get married than...France! Anyone who follows my work will know how much I adore a wedding in France, so when Mat and Chris first asked me about photographing their international wedding in France, I was so excited, and each time I met them in the run-up to their wedding day, that excitement grew and grew.
Mat and Chris met when they were both working at a record label, so naturally they had to include something about music into their day - they named each table after their favourite bands and acts - we were on the Beatles table, and even got a concert ticket given to us to let us know where to sit - so cool!
Mat also brought out her favourite leather jacket and sunglasses during our portrait session to add to the rock'n'roll wedding vibe.
The chateau, Chateau de Miserai in Normandy, about an hour from Paris, is the perfect place for an intimate destination wedding - everyone was able to stay either on site or just across the road where the Chateau owner has further self-catering accommodation. The grounds are vast and stunning, especially in early Autumn when we were there. It was just the perfect day - the sun shone all day, the stars came out at night like I've never seen before, and Mat and Chris were just the most fun couple!
